Early Work

Cassandra Sohn, DPSc, HHP, CLT, CMT, has worked in the healthcare field for over twenty years, both as a therapist and patient education.  She got her start as a Lifeguard and Swim Instructor for the local YMCA and as a Firefighter/EMT for the Lacey Fire Department in her early twenties.  During that time, she found a love of emergency medicine.   After fulfilling her contract, she headed off to school to pursue a nursing degree, working in the local hospital as a Physical Therapy Aide and later as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Oncology.

Making a Change

Initially, Cassandra studied and trained through Body Mechanics School of Myotherapy and Massage, using massage therapy to put herself through nursing school.  However, she quickly realized the benefit of Rehabilitative Myotherapy and began to dedicate herself to it full-time.  Her goal, see patients who came in pain, return to function and more fully enjoy their lives.

Transitioning Services

Several years ago, she completed Monarch Continuing Education’s Complete Decongestive Therapy program after seeing the immediate beneficial effects of Manual Lymphatic Drainage.  That training reconnected her with those affected by cancer.  Additionally, Cassandra, began studying under John F. Barnes (JFB), learning his approach to Myofascial Release (MFR).  She holds several certifications of instruction in JFB MFR, most notably Women’s Health Seminar.  She continues to further her education and skills.

A Life’s Calling

Cassandra has many licenses and certifications.  Most notably, Diplomat of Pastoral Science and Medicine through the PMA, Holistic Health Practitioner, Certified Lymphedema Therapist, and Certified Massage Therapist in the State of California, as well as an INNATE Postpartum Care Certified Provider through INNATE Traditions. Cassandra specializes in family wellness, specifically women’s health.  Using manual touch therapy, she helps with pelvic floor dysfunction and pain through both internal and external techniques.  She also teaches proper breast care for women and men.  Seeing a need in prenatal, postpartum, and well woman care, Cassandra continues to receive training in order to better serve the women and families in her community.  She works with a variety of patients, from infants to adults, loves what she does, and continues her educational efforts in her community to improve patient care.
